Updating listings is a constant task, so there may be things in the shop that do not yet have a link in the portfolio. You may also navigate to the Iskra Fine Art Shop through Etsy if that is your preferred platform. *There have been occasional problems with the listings of prints that are available in multiple sizes. So if you are only seeing one price for a print available in several sizes please use the Etsy link to see the listing in full and to make a purchase. And feel free to email me directly if you have any technical issues.
View Corridor, urban art, art for lofts, wall decor, urban decay, graffiti art, abstract art, architectural print, limited edition,Seattle
24.7 x 53.5 inches, sheet size, (image size 19.7 x 48.5") in an edition of 10. 3 are sold, 7 available
"View Corridor," is a limited edition fine art print created from a process that blends my original photography, mixed media, and digital alchemy. Coming from a background in traditional printmaking, I bring a love of analog texture and paper and ink to all of my work, whether it is digital, mixed media or pure painting. This print is not a reproduction of a painting, but a contemporary print in which the print itself is the only form in which the artwork exists.
This print is part of a series called "Construction/Reconstruction" in which I explore the documentary poetry of urban ruins and construction sites. In these pieces I photograph a building site over time as it is either being destroyed or built. I compose the finished work from multiple photographic captures of the architecture, textures, weather and other elements of place, blending them to invoke the dynamic process of decay and renewal.
"View Corridor" is a visual homage to Seattle and one of its most iconic buildings. "The first tallest building," the beloved Smith Tower, is juxtaposed with a collage of the streets in transition around it, as glimpsed from historic Chinatown, Japantown and the hills above downtown Seattle. "View Corridor" tells the emotional story of the urban landscape as Seattle undergoes transformation into a booming modern metropolis.
The finished piece is meticulously proofed and printed on either Moab Entrada or German Etching, using archival pigment inks rated to last for 100 years or more. The prints come with a certificate of authenticity verifying the edition number and the edition size.
These prints are traditionally numbered and signed in light pencil with the number on the left and the signature on the right, just below the image. They are intended to be matted with an approximately 1/2 inch space all around to reveal the signature, but can be cropped to the edge of the image if desired. The print shown in the room is scaled to approximately represent the print framed with a 5" mat border all around. Due to the difference in monitor settings on various devices I cannot guarantee that the color match of what you receive will be exact compared to what the listing shows.
*Prints are sold unframed.
I am happy to work with you if you are interested in a custom print of this image on an alternate paper or presentation format such as face-mounted acrylic.
