The Dandelion (For Dürer)
A gardener always has certain favorites among the "weeds." Some weeds, in other words, are "flowers." As a child I would grab big messy fistfuls of dandelions, and try alternately to eat them and blow them into the air. This lovely invasive persistent plant stands for valiance, and the insubstantiality of all troubles: you make a wish and send your worries away, transforming fear and doubt into joy.
The original artwork is created from a blend of my own photography and painting and printed by me in my studio on fine Moab Entrada Rag paper. This heavyweight 100% rag paper has a unique soft texture ideal both for fine art printing and for writing with pencil or pen. The cards are printed with archival inks and are suitable for framing. Larger limited edition prints of these artworks are available in my shop, links below.
Available in sets of 6
Also available as a larger print: https://etsy.me/3M71O6m
Each card is individually wrapped with an envelope in a clear cello bag ideal for giving as gifts. Cards fold to 5x7 inches to fit an A7 envelope, a generous size offering room to write a letter or a brief note as you choose.
These works are part of an ongoing project called The Gardener's Almanac of Irreproducible Phenomena in which I attempt to capture the mysteries of my garden as it moves through the seasons. See more at Iskra Fine Art at https://bit.ly/3tJ851o
