Part of a series of dreamy landscapes created for a show at the Seattle Art Museum Gallery presenting artists influenced by Asia. I spent many years studying Chinese and Japanese ink painting. This landscape mixes watercolor, photography and digital alchemy in a distinctive style that explores the ambiguous space between photographic reality and memory.
I am a walker as a daily practice, and I find great inspiration in the small lakes that scatter throughout the urban landscape. Plum Wine began as a glimpse of dogwoods and plums on a walk around Greenlake in Seattle. This extraordinary urban park is part of the Olmstead legacy, with refined and beautiful gatherings of trees and lawns that sweep to the water.
